Naata Nungurrayi:
Naata Nungurrayi is a respected senior elder and is recognised as a highly important artist in the Kintore women's artist movement. Naata was born c at the rockhole site of Kumil, west of the Pollock Hills in Western Australia. Naata is from the Pintupi Language group.
Naata and her family came to Papunya from the desert bush in April , and were brought into a camp by Jeremy Long, who was operating patrols out of Darwin. When Walungurru (Kintore ) was established as the main Pintupi settlement in early , Naata moved there with Pintupi people from her camp and from the west camp at Papunya. Naata started painting in late at Kintore along with other women artists from the Haasts Bluff community, and began commissioned paintings for Papunya Tula artists in
Naata is a full blood sister to Nancy Nungurrayi Ross, sister to George (Hairbrush) Tjungurrayi, and mother to Kenny Williams Tjampitjinpa; all highly respected artists in their own right.

Biography
Pantjiya Nungurrayi was born c at Haasts Bluff, prior to the mission being established. Her first contact with Europeans was as a young girl, when she and her family met with men who were travelling by camel and distributing rations.
During the latter part of the 70’s, Pantjiya lived with her family between Kungkiyunti Outstation, west of Haasts Bluff, and Papunya, before settling in Kintore soon after the community was established in the early 80’s.
Pantjiya is the widow of George Tjangala a well known artist and early member of the Papunya Tula Artists. Pantjiya has five sons and three daughters, one of her sons is Raymond Maxwell Tjampitjinpa, who also paints for Papunya Tula Artists.
Pantjiya Nungurrayi only began painting in the mid nineties painting a very distinctive style using the three traditional colours of black, white and yellow ochre.

Naata Nungurrayi was a respected senior Pintupi Elder and recognised as a leading woman artist in the western desert art movement. She was born c at the rockhole site of Kumil, west of the Pollock Hills in Western Australia. Naata is a full blood sister to the late Nancy Nungurrayi Ross, sister to George (Hairbrush) Tjungurrayi, and mother to Kenny Williams Tjampitjinpa; all highly respected artists in their own right. She lived in Walungurru (Kintore) with Nancy.
In April , Naata and her family were collected by a desert welfare patrol and brought to Papunya Community from the remote desert regions on the Northern Territory and Western Australian border. In one step, they had moved from a fully nomadic, stone age life into western society. Like other Elders of the time, Naata brought with her a knowledge of her country and its Dreamings that had evolved over 60, years. It was this deep knowledge that she later expressed in her astounding artworks. In , Walungurru (Kintore) was established by the Pintupi as their main community and Naata quickly moved back to her home country with her fellow Pintupi tribespeople.

Born in Haasts Bluff c, Ngoia Pollard went to school in Papunya and moved on to Kintore when she married Jack Tjampitjinpa. She began painting in and by had won the prestigious Advocate Central Australian Award, NT, and, two years later, in , the Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award in the painting category. Since then, she has been firmly established as an important figure in the Aboriginal art world.
