Inouye-Perez and UCLA returned the Women’s College World Series stage for the 10th time in her head coaching career in . The Bruins posted a record and a mark in conference play, taking home both the Pac regular season title and Pac Tournament championship in their final year as a member of the flagship softball conference. After starting the year with a record, UCLA closed out the final five weeks of the regular season convincingly with a mark which helped earn a No. 6 national seed in the NCAA Tournament.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Kelly Inouye-Perez first stepped onto a softball field in and hasn't left Westwood since.
Inouye-Perez just completed her 17th year as UCLA Head Softball Coach and she continues to mold the next generation of student-athletes, paving the way for the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in the sport she's dedicated her life to.
"I mean, I'm proud," she told Eyewitness News. "There's not many people when I grew up playing this sport that looked like me and I think with that, the sport has grown. As you see, our team, we are very diverse. We have Bruins all over the world that have come from different backgrounds"
She started her softball journey as a catcher and helped the program win its first three national titles.
The UCLA softball team has won 12 national titles and Inouye-Perez has been a part of every single championship, either as a player or a coach.

UCLA softball looks to keep undefeated season at Shriners Clearwater Invitational
A five-game winning streak that kickstarted the Bruins&#; season will be put to the test this weekend.
No. 4 UCLA softball () will go head-to-head against five teams this weekend across the three-day Shriners Clearwater Invitational, three of which are ranked in the top Friday&#;s schedule includes matchups against No. 10 Oklahoma State () and Charlotte (), followed by two fixtures against No. 24 Kentucky () and No. 12 Alabama () on Saturday. The squad will wrap up its weekend against Virginia () on Sunday.
UCLA has been dominant leading up to the invitational. The Bruins rendered their opponents scoreless in four of their last five games, outscoring them by a combined en route to five consecutive run-rule victories &#; a first in program history.
Senior utility Savannah Pola, who owns a team-leading batting average, has been instrumental in the Bruins&#; offensive success in the second spot in the batting order. Sporting two hits in a win against UC Riverside in UCLA&#;s last contest Sunday, Pola recorded her fourth straight multi-hit game heading into Clearwater.
