데네즈 지그몬디(Denes Zsigmondy)는 헝가리 부다페스트 프란츠 리스트 음악원에서 Geza de Kresz, Leo Weiner 그리고 Imre Waldbauer에게 바이올린과 음악 이론을 배웠다. 특히 바이올린 주법은 칼 플레쉬와 지노 프란세스카티에게 많은 영향을 받았으며 동부 유럽의 민속음악과 바르톡의 음악에 깊은 관심을 가지고 그와 친분을 나누었다.
지그몬디는 독일의 밤베르거, 베를린 그리고 비엔나 심포니 오케스트라와 협연하였고 보스톤, 부다페스트, 홍콩, 문헨 그리고 도코 필하모닉 오케스트라, 베를린 방송교향악단, 프랑크푸르트, 시드니 등 세계 여러 유명 오케스트라들과 협연하였다. 또한 리사이틀리스트로서활동하였다. 특히 Bialas, Genzmer, Eder등 현대 음악 작곡가들의 바이올린 협주곡들을 알리는데 헌신하기도 하였다. 지그문디는 개인적으로 코다이, 리게티등과 친분을 나누며 현대음악에 대한 깊은 관심을 보였다.
년 그는 워싱턴 대학교 교수로 임명된 이후 시애틀, 보스톤 대학교의 객원 교수로 활동하였고, 뉴잉글랜드 음악원, 보스톤, 리스트 음악원, 샌프란시스코, 홍콩등에서 마스터-클래스를 개최하기도 하였다. 년 이후로 Kolzhausen 음악 페스티발의 음악감독으로 활동하면서 년부터 이태리, 영국, 스위스, 독일, 헝가리, 미국을 비롯한 짤즈부르크 서머 아카데미에서 바이올린 클래스를 담당하기도 하였다. 지그몬디의 녹음은 미국의 마이너 레이블 Standart Record에서 LP음반과 TUXEDO레이블에서 MP3음반으로 발매되었다.

Dénes Zsigmondy was a Hungarian classical violinist and music educator.
Background
He was born Dénes Liedemann in Budapest, but changed his name to Zsigmondy, his paternal grandmother"s surname, as it was more Hungarian than German.
Career
After World World War II, Zsigmondy was rejected by several orchestras before joining the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra when he impressed the conductor with his performance of Brahms&#; Violin Concerto. Following this appointment, Zsigmondy would perform as a soloist with the Berliner Symphoniker and the Vienna Symphony. The philharmonic orchestras of Tokyo, Budapest and Munich.
And the radio orchestras of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney and Melbourne, and in Munich.
As well as the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Camerata Salzburg. From , he was a professor (later emeritus professor) of music at the University of Washington at Seattle, a visiting professor at Boston University, and conducted masterclasses at the New England Conservatory and other institutions around the world.

Hungarian violinist and pedagogue Dénes Zsigmondy has died aged An acclaimed soloist who performed with some of the leading European orchestras, in later years he became a respected teacher at music schools around America.
Born Dénes Liedemann in , he began learning the violin at the age of four. He studied with Géza de Kresz at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, before working with Carl Flesch, Váša P?íhoda and Zino Francescatti. In he moved to Germany to begin his performing career, when he also adopted his mother’s maiden name, Zsigmondy, to emphasise his Hungarian roots. Among the composers he counted as personal friends were Bartók, Kodály, Ligeti and György Kurtág.
From Zsigmondy had an international career as a soloist, performing throughout Europe and in the Americas, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Among the orchestras he performed with were the Berlin Symphony, Munich Philharmonic, the Salzburg Camerata, Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the Boston Philharmonic.
