- Jeg glemmer aldri den første kampen i Spektrum. Hele tilværelsen var spennende for en åring, det var så høyt under taket og langt der nede var banen vi skulle spille på, med enorme tribuner og masse folk rundt. Det var en veldig spesiell følelse, fastlår Orji og mimrer 20 år tilbake.
Den gangen spilte han på lag med Torgeir Bryn, Mustafa Mahnin og Kelvin Woods mot et Ulriken med profiler som Calix Black Ndiaye, Marco Elsafadi og Roy Midtun, og husker ikke engang hvem som vant. Men kampen endte i Ulrikens favør og var opptakten til en boom for basketball i Norge, iscenesatt av TV2s satsing.
- Basket var «in» den gangen, jeg følte det var mer interesse blant folk, også blant dem som aldri hadde sett basket. Vi var på vei opp. Jeg savner de tidene, men håper vi kan gjenskape entusiasmen. Det skjer mye positivt nå med rekruttering blant de yngste, og det er mange ildsjeler som jobber hardt innenfor klubbene, understreker åringen.
