One of the most important actors of Mexican cinema, Silvia Pinal was born on September 12, , in Guaymas, Sonora. Pinal made her first screen appearance in By the early s she was considered one of Mexico's favorite stars, winning an Ariel for best supporting actress in Un rincón cerca del cielo (A Place Near Heaven, ) and two more for best actress in Locura pasional (Passional Madness, ) and La dulce enemiga (The Sweet Enemy, ). Pinal is known internationally for her work in three films by the Spanish director Luis Buñuel, Viridiana (), El ángel exterminador (The Exterminating Angel, ), and Simón del desierto (Simon of the Desert, ). By the mids, Pinal had moved away from cinema and dedicated herself to theater and television. The actress is also well-known for her four marriages, to director Rafael Banquelis, producer Gustavo Alatriste, popular singer Enrique Guzman, and Mexican governor Tulio Hernandez. Since the mids she has worked in television production; she was also elected to public office while married to Hernandez. Pinal returned to the screen in the film Ya no los hacen como antes (They Don't Make Them Like They Used To, ).

Silvia Pinal Hidalgo is a Mexican actress, businesswoman and producer, born on September 12, , in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. The daughter of María Luisa Hidalgo and Moisés Pasquel, Silvia was raised by her mothers second husband, Luis Pinal, a Mexican journalist and politician. In her childhood, she lived in several cities, such as Querétaro, Acapulco, Cuernavaca, Puebla and, finally, her family settled in Mexico City.
While working as a secretary, in the advertising department at a pharmaceutical products firm, Silvia would meet several radio personalities, who gave her the opportunity to participate in the recording of some radio programs, such as Dos pesos la dejada and Sueño de a summer night After this, Silvia would take acting classes at the Institute of Fine Arts, as well as singing classes. She would soon meet the Cuban actor and director Rafael Banquells, who would offer her roles in the plays that she put on with the Spanish actress Isabelita Blanch.
