Former SG Njogu Bah and Co judgment today, not Monday
The highly-anticipated judgment in the case involving former Secretary General Dr. Njogu Bah, former Justice minister Lamin Jobarteh and former Solicitor General Pa Harry Jammeh, is now rescheduled for today at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul.
The judgment, which was initially set for Tuesday but postponed to Monday 23rd December, will now be delivered today Thursday, the Special Criminal Court was told yesterday.
The trio are being tried under a three-count which included conspiracy to carry out a lawful purpose by an unlawful means, giving false information to a public officer, and abuse of office, charges they denied.
Lamin AMS Jobarteh, Pa Harry Jammeh, and Dr Njogu L. Bah, were accused in count one that, between January and February , in the Banjul City Council, within the jurisdiction of the court, conspired among themselves to remove Justice Wowo, a sitting Judge of the Court of Appeal of The Gambia by an lawful means, to wit, orchestrating his arrest, detention and mock trial, and thereby committed an offence.

Former SG Njogu Bah makes second court appearance
Former Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, and Presidential Affairs Minister, Dr. Njogu L. Bah, yesterday made his second court appearance at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before Senior Magistrate Lamin Mbai.
Njogu Bah, who made his first appearance before the said court on 15th July , was jointly charged alongside ex-Justice minister Lamin Jobarteh and former Solicitor General and Legal Secretary, Pa Harry Jammeh.
The trio were charged with abuse of office, and two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.
On their first appearance in court, senior magistrate Mbai granted the accused persons bail of D, each with one Gambian surety, who must deposit a biometric identification card.
The bail condition further stipulated that the accused persons should report to a police station from Monday to Friday, and they must also surrender their passports to the registrar of the Banjul Magistrates Court.
During yesterday’s court sitting, police prosecutor Chief Inspector Badjie told the court that the prosecution was applying for the case to be transferred to the High Court in Banjul.

Former Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr Njogu L. Bah, was on Monday at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court before acting Principal Magistrate Lamin Mbaye charged under the Economic Crimes Specified Offences Act.
Bah is already facing trial at the high court in Banjul alongside former Justice minister Lamin Jobarteh and former Solicitor General Pa Harry Jammeh on a three-count charge, which included conspiracy to carry out a lawful purpose by an unlawful means, giving false information to a public officer, and abuse of office before the Special Criminal Court .
According to the particulars of the offence, under the economic crime crime, the accused person between the months of September and September in the city of Banjul, intentionally did an act which proved to be detrimental to the economy of The Gambia, by receiving the original bill of laden for twenty (20) containers of fertilizer valued at one hundred and forty one thousand dollars ($,) for Kanilai Family Farm from the Delmas Gambia Shipping Agency, and failed to clear same, which caused an economic loss to the Gambia
Janneh Commission indicts former SGs Momodou Sabally and Njogu Bah

The Commission of Inquiry looking into the financial transactions of the former President Yahya Jammeh has indicted former secretary generals Momodou Sabally and Dr Njogu Bah in connection to millions of dalasis theft of public resources.
The Janneh Commission report will be released tomorrow with a government plan of action by the Justice Minister Abubacarr Tambadou.
